Use a broom or a vacuum cleaner
to sweep the front side of the carpet. You should also sweep the
back of your carpet by folding the sides biweekly. Wipe your carpet
in circular motion with a cloth damped in a detergant water and
then with a water damped cloth to wipe of the detergant. Leave your
carpet to dry leaving the pile to its weaving direction.
Protect your rug from water and
moisture. Your carpet will decay if left in damp and moisturous
conditions for extended periods of time. Dry your carpets that you
see are moist in a well ventilated area.
Do not fold the fringes under
the carpet. Do not wash the fringes with bleaching agents and do
not comb them in any way. Such cases will result in the weakening
and tearing of the fringes. Consult to an expert if you see your
fringes are wearing out and if possible get them repaired.
Use moth preventing agents to
keep moth away when you are not using your carpets for a long time.
If possible roll your carpets and keep them in a cloth bag. Ventilate
your carpet every 6 months. Frequently used and cleaned carpets
do not attract moth.
